Users with sufficient editorial permissions for a page will see a button for editing that page when they open it in the portal:
Create new version
To ensure the system is audit-proof, the active, published version of a page can no longer be edited. This version is locked.
However, the editor can create a new version based on the currently published version or revert back to an unpublished version (drafts):

Here, you have the ability to access archived versions among other things. Archived versions cannot be edited or copied. This means you can access old, previously published content and rework it (1) or create a new version (2):
